Prime Big Deal Days is live: a 48-hour early-holiday race, double pressure on sellers

Amazon's October sale opened Oct 6–7 across ~22 countries. With Walmart and Target running parallel events, sellers face discount and ad pressure at once.
Amazon's October sale, Prime Big Deal Days, began on October 6; it runs 48 hours across roughly 22 countries. The event is the year's first big holiday sales wave, and Amazon drops new deals three times a day (midnight, 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. PDT). Because Walmart, Target and Best Buy place their own October sales in the same window, demand compresses into a single 48 hours.
For sellers that means double pressure: a discount eats margin on one side, while staying visible in an 'everyone's on sale' environment pushes up ad cost (CPC) on the other. Together, revenue multiplies while net-per-unit shrinks. The winner in this window isn't whoever sells most, but whoever calculated in advance how much discount + ad share each SKU can carry. Without a net figure in hand, this is the window where getting swept up in the traffic and selling at a loss is most likely.
