Half of European businesses selling on Temu report increased capacity or new hires; one-third have successfully entered new international markets.

Temu released findings from a survey of European small and medium-sized enterprises operating on its platform. Among over 150 respondents, 50% reported expanding production capacity, hiring additional staff, or both since joining Temu. One-third of participants disclosed successfully entering new international markets. The results highlight the cross-border sales opportunities the platform provides to European merchants.

Temu has pursued aggressive expansion outside China over the past two years. In Europe specifically, it attracts small sellers with lower commission rates and logistics support, reducing the cost burden typical on established marketplaces. This strategy aims to compete with platforms like Amazon and Shopify while building a robust seller ecosystem across the continent.

For European merchants, this development signals lower internationalization costs and access to new customer bases. Observers, however, continue to monitor whether the low-commission model is sustainable long-term and how Temu will adapt to Europe's strict e-commerce regulations regarding VAT compliance and data protection.
